Overview

The 2726CH1 Saft nickel-cadmium battery consists of a box (055), containing 19 individual cells CVH271KH These cells are connected in series to obtain 22.8 V nominal. Individual cells are enclosed in a polyamide container that provides insulation, allowing them to be fitted side by side in the battery box. Interconnection of cell is via rigid, highly conductive, nickel-plated copper links (100 to 140). Each link is held in place by nickel-plated copper nuts (070) on the cells terminals. Inside the battery box, individual cells are held in place by partitions, liners and spacers (210), and a cover (020).

• The battery is charged on the aircraft by an on-board charger.
• The charge control thermistor provides a signal to the charger to compensate the charge according to the battery temperature.
