Overview
For much of the last few decades, pilots referred to aeronautical chart products as “NOS” charts as produced by NOAA/NOS (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Ocean Service). Subsequently, those same chart products became known as “NACO” (National Aeronautical Charting Office) charts. This has all been due to organizational restructuring at the FAA and it has changed again: the FAA now releases these chart products via the Aeronautical Navigation Products (“AeroNav Products”) Department, which is part of the National Aeronautical Navigation Services. In an effort to keep these products associated with the FAA nomenclature, ASA is removing the references to “NOS” and “NACO” and updating product names, numbers and descriptions where applicable the prices remain unchanged. Pardon our dust as these changes are implemented.
